Last weekend I had the honor of leading the e-workshop on hashtag#female hashtag#Leadership at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
In the first part, we explored various leadership styles, hashtag#conflict management, unconscious hashtag#biases, and emotional intelligence. In the second part, I discussed female hashtag#empowerment, the importance of hashtag#mentorship, how to combat hashtag#stereotypes, build hashtag#assertive hashtag#communication, and become a leader in a male-dominated world.
It was an incredible and enriching journey, with women and girls from Afghanistan, Syria, Canada, Italy, and many other countries participating.
They had the opportunity to discuss in a safe space, where there was no judgment but understanding, where barriers were broken instead of erected, and where comprehension of the other passed through knowledge of the self. We discovered strengths we didn’t know we had and accepted, without judgment, the weaknesses that each of us possesses.
At the end of the workshop, I asked for feedback on how it went, what the participants took home, and what I could improve on as a trainer. Their feedback was so sincere and beautiful that I was moved as I closed my computer, thinking about the hashtag#network we had built together.
